Pilgrims from Cameroon, Nigeria, Chad, and the Central African Republic are reportedly being targeted by scammers selling fake tickets for Pope Leo XIV’s upcoming Africa visit.
The pope will embark on a 10‑day apostolic trip from April 13–23, 2026, visiting Algeria, Cameroon, Angola, and Equatorial Guinea.

With only a week remaining before his arrival, Cameroonian Church officials warn that many faithful planning to attend papal masses and events are being misled.

Authorities stress that all papal services and ceremonies during the visit are free and open to the public.

On April 15, during his stop in Cameroon, Pope Leo XIV is expected to meet local communities, prisoners, and healthcare workers.
