USA President Donald Trump has renewed threats of military action against Islamist militants in Nigeria and questioned South Africa’s place in the G20, days before it hosts the global summit.

In a video posted on Truth Social, Trump accused Nigeria of failing to protect Christians and said he’s asked the Pentagon to prepare for “possible action.” “If they don’t, there is going to be hell to pay,” he warned.

He also said South Africa “shouldn’t even be in the G20 anymore,” and confirmed he won’t attend the summit, with Vice President JD Vance going in his place.

Nigerian President Bola Tinubu rejected Trump’s claims, saying they “do not reflect our national reality.”
