Next, a church leader gave him the "Ring of the Fisherman." This special ring represents his job as Pope, and it's been a tradition since the time of Saint Peter, who used to be a fisherman.

Pope Leo also received a "pallium," which is a strip of wool from a lamb. This symbolizes his role as a shepherd, caring for his followers.

During his speech, the 267th Pope asked for everyone in the church to be united. He said he felt a bit nervous and humble as he came to lead the church as a brother to everyone.

Pope Leo XIV also spoke about the war in Ukraine at the end of the service. He prayed that Ukraine, which he called "martyred," would finally see fair and lasting peace talks happen.
