Who are P-Square?
P-Square is a Nigerian R&B duo consisting of twin brothers Peter and Paul Okoye. They are widely considered as one of the most successful and talented acts in Africa. With their unique blend of soulful R&B, hip-hop and afrobeats, they have captivated audiences around the world and won numerous awards.
Early Career
The brothers began singing at a young age. They competed in local talent shows and eventually gained recognition in the Nigerian music industry. In 2001, they released their debut album Last Nite, which was followed by Get Squared (2005) and Game Over (2007). These albums spawned numerous hit singles such as “Do Me”, “No One Like You” and “Chop My Money”.
Rise to Fame
In 2009, P-Square released their fourth album Danger, which went on to become
one of the highest selling albums in Nigerian history. It spawned yet another massive hit single “Personally” that topped charts across Africa. This was followed by The Invasion (2011) and Double Trouble (2014). Both albums were huge successes and garnered critical acclaim from music critics and fans alike.
Collaborations & Awards
The duo has collaborated with other top African artists such as Awilo Longomba, J. Martins, May D and Rick Ross. They have also been awarded numerous awards including KORA Awards, MTV Europe Music Awards, Channel O Music Video Awards, World Music Awards and many more.
Legacy
