According to reports, "masked men" killed Saif al-Islam Gaddafi, the powerful son of late Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi, on Tuesday at his home in Libya.

According to family sources, his attorney Khaled al-Zaidi, and Libyan media, the 53-year-old was shot and killed in the northern African nation's northwest town of Zintan.

According to a statement from his political team, "four masked men" broke into his home and killed him in a "cowardly and treacherous assassination." Additionally, Mr. Al-Zaidi verified the death on Facebook without offering any additional information.
